MIDLAND
DOBERMANN CLUB 22nd Feb 2009
My thanks to the comittee for the invitation
to judge their Open show & the lovely gift. A special thanks to
Peter, my steward. Not the biggest of entries, but I had some quality
dogs to go over. I was disappointed in the movement of some, as stacked
they looked lovely but seemed to go to pieces on the move. Maybe outside,
in a bigger ring, the results could be different but you can only judge
on the day. As usual, all exhibits had excellent temperaments.

neck that flows into good shoulders. Correct topline & tailset.

Good angles which she uses to move with reach & drive. At one with
her handler. In tip top condition. A pleasure to judge her.
2nd - Banton's CH.VANHALLEN BLACK VELVET WITH DARKISS JW - This was
my biggest disappointment of the day. I have often admired this bitch
from the ringside. Slightly taller than my winner, she has the best
of heads, strong yet feminine with such an alert expression. Good reach
of neck which she uses well, well laid shoulders, firm topline with
good tailset. Correct forechest, straight front, good bone. Brisket
down to elbow, with enough spring of rib. Good angles front & rear.
In hard condition. She just didn't move as well as the winner. Maybe
